Cloud or self-hosted: which Bitrix24 to choose

Bitrix24 comes as a cloud service (running on Bitrix24 servers) and as a self-hosted edition (installed on your server). Here's who each one suits.

Cloud: fast, no server

  • Up and running in a day — no server or administrator needed.
  • Updates arrive automatically.
  • Subscription billing: monthly or annual.
  • Suits most small and medium businesses.

Self-hosted: your data, your customisations

  • The system runs on your server — data stays with you.
  • The code can be deeply customised for unique processes.
  • Requires a server, administration and backups.
  • The license is bought once; updates follow the renewal terms.

How to choose

Choose cloud if you want to start fast, have no IT department, and standard Bitrix24 features are enough — and for most sales tasks they are.

Choose self-hosted if data storage requirements rule out the cloud, or you need deep customisation or integrations with internal systems not reachable from outside.

Tip

You can start in the cloud and move to self-hosted later — but it's a separate data migration project, so it's best to decide at the start.
